A very good two day staycation.

The location of RCG is excellent. We spent our two days exploring the area and it was very, very convenient to do so.

On our first evening, the air-conditioner in our room broke down and it was dripping/leaking water badly. We were shifted to another room and upgraded to the Britannia Suite which was lovely. The Britannia Suite is lovely - spacious and uniquely decorated. We loved all the art pieces adorning the walls of this suite.

So comfortable and engaing that I felt like I lived there.

The apartment is very comfortable and the location is incredible. The staff were wonderful and the restaurant downstairs had fantastic food and coffee. Even if you aren't staying at Rabbit Carrot Gun, I would visit for the food and coffee.

Really worth the money, a real pleasant experience be it the room & especially the staff! all the staff were very he

everything. the room was very spacious compared to a hotel! I love the vintage & Artistic feels around the room.

the only thing I didn’t like about the property was the flooring. I understand it’s a vintage & old concept. but the flooring had nails sticking out here and there which was dangerous to walk. I injured my feet getting a cut while walking and hitting myself onto the nail which was sticking out. pls pls look into redoing the flooring. also the water heater, the hot water is not constant. there is hot water but after awhile the hot water won’t be really hot. so pls look into changing the water heater too. other than these two things, everything else was great

Great place with much to improve

Nice heritage place with interesting decor and layout. Similar to what other reviewers have mentioned, it’s a good place for the seasoned traveler who would like to stay somewhere unique. Traditional-looking furniture that has been modernized with fixtures for practical use. Availability of TV with Netflix and YouTube capabilities. Some amenities (towels, hand towels, shower gel and shampoo, hand wash) available. I was initially a little concerned when I saw that I was given a room facing a busy road, but the heavy curtains were good sound treatments and blocked out street lights too. There was a common space at my unit - stove, water glasses, crockery and cutlery, hot water kettle, fridge.. were all in the common area. I actually forgot the checkout time was earlier than most hotels but they didn’t chase me out. It appeared to me that the restaurant staff were also the ‘hotel’ staff and they were busy during the peak period to wonder if I checked out on time. lol Despite all the negative things, I will still consider staying here for the unique place and location where I’m surrounded with famous cafes of Singapore.

I think the main drawback for this property is the upkeep of the room. 1. As beautiful as the deco are, the floorboards were quite old - as other reviews has mentioned, there were wide gaps between the floor boards, and this led to a cement floor that was very dusty. I also had a couple of splinters under my feet (no in-room slippers provided). 2. My room was fit for 2, but there was no covering or door for the toilet cubicle and shower was a see-through. 3. In view of an ongoing pandemic, I’m not sure if a common area for cutlery, water glasses and kettle is a good idea. On top of that, there was no dishwashing liquid to allow us to clean the crockery thoroughly after use. 4. Don’t expect hotel-like rooms here - no tooth brush, shower cap or properly-labeled toiletries. Also, bathroom mat was not changed. While floor was clean, the mat had a lot of hair that I noticed the moment I stepped in.

The overhead shower, simple breakfast and the staff were excellent.

Aircon wasn’t cold, the gap/space in between the floorboards are quite wide, had to be careful not to drop anything or catch my toe in between the boards.

35th Birthday Celebration.

A rustic boutique hotel with very friendly staff. High celling. Awesome big toilet with amazing bath. Really nice ambience. Able to use YouTube and log into your own Netflix. Common fridge for us to keep our food and drinks cold. Stove an d kettle to use if we had wanted to cook but why would you if you have such a nice cafe/bar downstairs? Staff was very accomdating to help place the flowers on the bed for check in surprise.

Floors are old with large gaps so worried that at times, things that we drop might slip down the cracks. Nails are also protruding at certain areas. Carpet was not clean and had lots of hair. TV was at the side, so after prolong lounging in bed, the neck gets uncomfortable.

Comfy apartment with good food options

Comfortable apartment above bar / restaurant. Good European food downstairs and very good laksa in place opposite. Very friendly staff and the place feels secure. Airport and central Singapore are both a short drive away - perfect for our 2 night layover.

Enjoyable stay will be better when the new MRT station is completed

Breakfast was spectacular as expected as this is a full on restaurant with a few rooms upstairs. Room was airy with all the modern conveniences of effective air-cond, ceiling fan, LED lighting. Shower and toilet is thoroughly modern with good water pressure. Availability of a clothes washer was a welcome bonus. Fridge/freezer is larger than what you'd get in a hotel room. Had no issue with noise from the restaurant downstairs at night during the evening as this is an upmarket place. Like the accommodation easy access to East Coast park for morning exercises. Although public buses are plentiful, the MRT line is near completion and will connect this area to the rest of the city.

Only Apple TV available which locks out Android users. No alternative form of reception for the TV if you don't have an Apple product.

Clean, friendly, excellent food!

Clean room, good a/c, the highlight was the bar and restaurant downstairs. The breakfast was incredible both days and the bar is a nice way to relax with a beer after a long day of sightseeing. Staff was very friendly and we enjoyed just chatting with them.

All was great! A small warning that the hotel is not within walking distance of the major attractions but you can get a cheap $10 cab ride on Grab.

Great place, stylish but no TV for people who need that, breakfast started a bit late for my needs but I managed to get some gronola, the staff, especially Andy, were superb from start to finish.

Great value for money and superb staff! I had to extend my stay by one day and Victor was totally accommodating and understanding. Really one of my better experiences in Singapore so far.

Rabbit Carrot Gun stay

The staff were wonderful. Accomodating, funny, eager to please, and a joy to talk to. The rooms are all very large and there are extra facilities for simple cooking and washing onsite. Also, the scrambled eggs were the best I have ever tasted.

The location might be a bit far outside of town for some. It is a 30-40 minute walk to the nearest MRT station, but there are plenty of food joints around the hotel area. Like most places in Singapore, the prices for food and drinks are a little high.

Everything! Staff where awesome and the food is fantastic. There was a guest chef from Brisban he was there for three days the evening meal we had there was superb. Big shout out to Victor for all his help and advice.

Very disappointed with room quality. Poor customer service and being overcharged .

Not much at all

I didn't like being charged $67 per night extra by using booking. com. This is $98 per night maximum for standard of premises. I also didn't like no door on toilet as it was in the bedroom. Also all windows are barred so in the event of a fire there is no escape if exit is burning. Room not prepared properly. Lack of toiletries . No hot water as it was not switched on prior to arrival. I did not appreciate being asked to pay extra $10 if I wanted a full breakfast which I was of the understanding to be included in the price. Poor customer service.

Quirky interesting building with truly nice staff. Well worth a visit.

The great welcome was lovely. Very friendly helpful young men who created a terrific arrival. They made us feel nothing was too much trouble. We loved the quirky room and character it had. A fantastic bathroom with a huge amount of room to move was a pleasant surprise and the bedroom was spacious. It was very good value we thought and the breakfast was also good. They serve a mean coffee too, much better than the chains. We intend to stay again next time we visit and also very much enjoyed the area the establishment was at.

The only tiny fault was lack of a stair rail on steep steps to enter the rooms. Only because I am nervous about falls.

The best kind of surprise for a stay in Singapore.

The big bonus was getting the entire upstairs apartment, adding a living room and sofa to my bedroom, bathroom and terrace. The whole thing was just awesome, coupled with the friendly and warm welcome made it a fantastic stay. I loved the living room space with comfy sofa and armchair and cushions. I found it very hard not to relax and drift off. Great head space for a tall man too. I would certainly come again given the opportunity.

Maybe the breakfast could have included more than just eggs, but that's being picky.
